Five Spots For Indoor Fun on Those Rainy Seattle Days
October 05 2017 - doadmin
Seattle gets plenty of rain, but that has no effect on the number of exciting things to do in the city. Here are five fun indoor activities adults can do in Seattle on dreary days.
Play Seattle Bubble Soccer
A rainy day is no excuse for no exercise. At Seattle Bubble Soccer, players don “Battle Suits”—giant plastic orbs—and roll down hills in one of these getups. This sport has the same rules as soccer, but the orb armor means players can be a bit more aggressive. Indeed, the fun is in knocking other people down and going for acrobatic kicks and maneuvers when you can. On a rainy day, you can reserve an indoor spot to play bubble soccer.Go Rock Climbing
You don’t have to risk the rain to go bouldering and rock climbing in Seattle. Two popular indoor spots are Seattle Bouldering Project, which offers climbing instructions as well as fitness and yoga classes, and Vertical World, which opened the first climbing gym in America. Both spots have a variety of routes available, so you can find something challenging whether you’re a beginner or expert. There are options for bouldering and rock climbing at both locations.Visit the Seattle Pinball Museum
The Seattle Pinball Museum houses an incredible selection of arcade games dating back to 1934. Whether you want to play on vintage tables or just admire how these games have progressed over the years, this is a great spot to spend a rainy afternoon. There’s a flat price for admission, and after that, you can play as much as you want. Multi-entry tickets are also available, meaning you can come and go throughout the day. Snacks and local craft beers and ciders are available if you get hungry or thirsty, and all the cabinets have cup holders.Sink Some Putts at Flatstick Pub
Flatstick Pub is an indoor 9-hole mini golf course that also features a few other games, like Duffleboard. These fun activities promise to cure the blues on a cloudy day, but they’re only part of the fun to be had here. Flatstick Pub offers dozens of beers and ciders made throughout Washington. Snacks are available, but you can also order a pot pie made from 314 Pie. There are also plenty of local delivery options, so you won’t have to step out in the rain to get a bite to eat.Take Your Furry Friends to Dogwood
You aren’t the only one who’s getting cabin fever. Don’t forget that your dogs need to stretch their legs too. Dogwood is an indoor play park with an interesting twist: only adults 21 and older are allowed. While your pet plays and makes some new friends, enjoy a beer, cider, or glass of wine. Non-alcoholic drinks and snacks are also available. You can bring your own food for a picnic, but remember to review the rules before entering. With so many excellent indoor options in Seattle, you should be looking forward to the next rainy day. Remember these spots the next time you feel like getting out regardless of the weather.
