How The 2018 Honda Odyssey Lives Up to The Hype
December 28 2017 - doadmin
Family ready to get into their red 2018 Honda OdysseyYou might have seen one or 100 Honda Odyssey minivans on the road and wondered why they're so popular. More than just a mover of people and cargo, the Odyssey sets the standard for minivans and continues to raise the bar with its 2018 redesign. Read on to learn why millions of Odyssey owners can't be wrong.

The 2018 Redesign

LED headlights and a bold new grille are the first things to notice about the Odyssey's redesign, but this vehicle is more than just a pretty face. Inside are improvements such as magic slide seats, an infotainment system that's as easy to use as your smartphone, onboard 4G LTE WiFi, a cabin control app, and the Honda Sense suite of driver assistance technologies. CabinView and CarTalk enable you to see and speak with passengers seated in the second and third rows. Answer the “Are we there yet?” question for good with the “How Much Farther?” App.

Room With a View

A minivan serves a specific purpose: to haul people and cargo. The 2018 Odyssey excels at this task. With room for up to eight people, the Odyssey lets everyone ride in comfort with separate climate controls for all three rows and sun shades for second and third-row occupants. When more space is needed in the back for cargo, remove the seats to reveal enough space for a stack of 4' by 8' plywood sheets. The on-board HondaVAC makes cleanup easy between trips.

Giving You a Hand

When Honda designed the 2018 Odyssey, the automaker realized you, the consumer, are busy. You don't always have a free hand to open a door or fumble for keys. That's why the Odyssey comes equipped with a hands-free tailgate that engages with the pass of your foot under the rear bumper, push-button start, and smart entry with walk away auto lock. Provided the key fob is in your pocket or purse, you can unlock the van by touching the handle, and it will automatically lock once you're eight feet away. Tall drivers, rejoice: The Odyssey also features an adjustable lift-gate height, which can be programmed for each driver.

Quick and Nimble

A vehicle of the 2018 Odyssey's size normally isn't nimble, but the Odyssey isn't normal. It drives with the finesse of a car and provides a quiet ride. Supported by MacPherson strut front suspension and 18-inch wheels (19-inch on higher trims), the Odyssey takes on the road with relish. It's no slouch in the power department either: its 280-horsepower V-6 engine yields 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. Choose from the nine-speed or 10-speed transmission depending on which of the five available trim levels you choose. Kelly Blue Book calls the 2018 Honda Odyssey “the best minivan money can buy.” The Odyssey has also been awarded by the IIHS and the NHTSA, not to mention its 2017 North American Truck of the Year accolade. Test drive an Odyssey today to learn why this redesigned vehicle is worthy of such high praise. Image via Honda.com
